Mermaids: the Massively Multiplayer Online Game
An experimental massively multiplayer game set in an underwater world.
Goals
The goal of Mermaids is to build an emergent multiplayer experience that rewards collaboration while de-emphasizing violence. Players quickly discover that in order to survive, they must also revive the damaged ecosystem, and ultimately learn to work with it in a harmonious fashion.
I helped to define the overall aesthetic, make the player character, as well as a promotional comic book.
